After a rainy evening visit to the Basilica de Sacre Coeur my two teenager daughters and I visited Il Duca, which I had booked through The Fork. As three females travelling alone I was keen to find somewhere close to the Abesses metro station so that we'd have a straight forward trip back to our hotel. Il Duca had good reviews and my girls both love Italian food so it seemed a good option. Il Duca is a gorgeous little restaurant with welcoming and cozy ambiance, the staff forgave my terrible attempts at French and gave us an English menu. We shared calamari and bruschetta for our starter. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best calamari I have ever tasted - cooked to perfection with a light batter. The bruschetta was also delicious - we went for the large size, which was very generous - we could have managed with the small I'm sure! However we ate it all as the tomatoes were just divine. For main course I had sea bass and the girls both had lasagne - all top notch.

lasagne was amazing but the aubergine in the rigatoni alla Norma wasn't cooked properly.

Loved it so much, my friends and I went back twice! And with so many options in Paris, that is saying a lot. This is a MUST GO.

Great local restaurant. Awesome food and friendly staff. Pasta with truffles is amazing.

The service was slow and challenging, well intended, but they needed more leadership. The pasta with mushrooms was amazing, as was the burrata starter.
