During my last visit to Florence, in 2019, we dined at a different branch of Trattoria dall'Oste which we remember as having a higher quality of service. The Fiorentina was very good, as it is expected to be, However, the meal was served with stale bread. When we pointed out that the bread was not fresh, the waiter pretended not to understand our English. I understand that in Florence there is a charge for a carafe of water and a coperto charge, but 4.40 Euros for the water and 4.30 Euros per person for the coperto made the place seem like more of a tourist trap than the sister restaurant on Borgo San Lorenzo from 2019.

classic bistecca alla fiorentina and the beans in tomato sauce as a side dish were fantastic. very friendly and attentive staff, lovely atmosphere. only the bread was rather dry, could be improved.

I came for the beef and it was delicious. I felt a little ripped off by the excessive cover charge of over 4 euro. I know cover charges are common, but this was over the top.
