10/10Lovely evening at Umami, great food and atmosphere. Place was popular and packed, staff worked very hard to make everybody’s evening a good one. I would definitely go again. My only gripe was that the menu was confusing and we were forced to order far more food than we would normally wish to eat. Being able to choose a small amount of individual dishes à la carte and not from the extended set menu would make this venue the perfect evening out

The menu promised a touch of luxury, featuring ingredients like crayfish and scallops, but unfortunately the dishes themselves fell a bit flat. The flavors were rather bland and uninspiring—not bad per se, just lacking excitement. On the bright side, the wine selection was excellent, and the service, though a bit slow, was delivered with genuine warmth and friendliness by a very charming server. Overall, a cozy atmosphere, but the food left something to be desired.

8/10First time at Umami. Surprisingly great food. All very tasty. Reasonable prices. But the service was very slow. We waited quite a while before the staff took our orders. When they did, they patiently explained how the ordering system was, however, it was nearly 1.5 hours between our first and second courses. It also took time for our third courses to arrive. The mojito my friend got was rather sweet whereas the “champagne” that accompanied my pornstar martini was stale prosecco with no bubbles and hardly any flavor. We arrived at 6 pm and left at nearly ten not just due to the large number of courses for the social dining menu but also due to the long wait between courses.

8/10the food was great, but overconstrajned and too many dishes to pick from. i think the dishes themselves had character and depth. the portion sizes are somewhat large, which makes it hard to get through. lastly, the service was incredibly slow.

Simply delicious! I will definitely be back. My waitress was also super friendly and helpful. She enhanced my dining experience. Highly recommend Umami and she deserves a bonus or raise!

Great service, attentive and caring, and extremely kind - rare for Amsterdam's standards. Great value for the money - full seafood menu with half lobster at €58 is 🔥. What can be improved: wine cart can be bigger and a few dishes are overly salty or with too garnishes.
