+1Staff was very professional and friendly. Food was delicious. A piece of art. You could tell the chef really loved their craft. I had the vegan special menu and everything was beautiful and delicious. I’m not sure how they were able to turn the food into what was presented. Everyone there was local except us. Definitely recommend to experience modern Dutch cuisine.

Our experience at hamlese was very nice. Atmosphere is warm and cozy. Tables and furniture are wooden made in brown and warm shades which make you feel comfy and relaxed. Food was very high quality with some tasty notes in some plates which pretty surprised us . Best dish I would have taken twice but I was too full, was the dessert: and incredible soft chocolate mousse, dark and white chocolate. Service was nice and professional. I appreciated the politeness and kindness of the owners. I would surely suggest anyone to dine here also because you can even enjoy a romantic l view on one of Amsterdam canals.

This is an amazing restaurant. Food is prepared in a haute cuisine fashion with flavours blended to perfection and presentation executed truly well. Be prepared to spend a bit more but if you appreciate good food truly and thoroughly worth while.

9/10Delicious, interesting flavors. The chef combines ingredients and seasonings in creative ways. A pumpkin-duck appetizer used an amazing, light touch of ginger- so subtle it was almost impossible to recognize and thoroughly delicious. This was a fantastic dinner.

10/10Staff made us welcome from the moment of arrival. Restaurant very modern but stylish decor. Fun evening as 12 finalists from Mr Gay Europe 2025 were at the next table! Delicious choice of food from two menus, nice wine list. Would definitely visit again on next visit to Amsterdam and will recommend to others.

10/10Hemelse Modder was such a delightful surprise. It didn’t look like there was anyone in the restaurant when we walked by in the street itself was not lively. we soon found everyone was in the back patio, enjoying an alfresco casual plant filled environment. There were so many good things on the menu. We decided to do two different pre fix menus. We wouldn’t share because we loved our own selections. It was our only night in Amsterdam and it was a great treat. We had a bottle of wine, a couple of cocktails and two price fix menus for a total of $246 American dollars. Not cheap, but also worth the investment.

10/10A really buzzy local restaurant. Very nice service. Small seasonal menu with unusual food, beautifully cooked and presented. About £70 a head including door drinks. Would certainly recommend.

10/10A wonderful, traditional Dutch restaurant with plain decor and arguably the very best local cuisine we’ve ever had. Their multi-course menu allows you to pick dishes from within each course, to customize your dinner. Each course comes with a well matched wine.
