The location is magical, candle lit and in a historical building in the heart of Amsterdam. The food is simple and nice, but the ambience makes for a lovely experience

In The Waag is a lovely restaurant — beautiful interior and a pleasant overall atmosphere. When we arrived, it felt like they weren’t quite ready for us. There was no table prepared for our group of six, and although they arranged everything fairly quickly, we still had to wait a bit while they figured out where to seat us. The food was tasty, no complaints there. There was some confusion with the menus — we were given both an old and a new version, which led to a few mix-ups. Fortunately, the staff helped us sort it out, and as a nice touch, they even managed to prepare a dish from the old menu that wasn’t listed in the new one. In summary: great setting and enjoyable food, but the initial service could be smoother and more coordinated.

Food was just not good, with no reason other than it clearly came from a commercial kitchen with no care put into the taste or ingredients. Otherwise, the service was fantastic, and the ambiance was wonderful. I’d go back for drinks, but not for dinner

When we got there waiter offered us lunch menu, but said that grill is not working so available were only sandwiches. Super disappointing.

The entire time was a disaster. The newly hired staff of three-days, ruined the nite. She took the order and forgot the main meal. She overordered the salad..... forgot to order one of the mains. I believe she just wasn't paying attention. Overall, it was a 2 hour experience and our meal was a failure. I've been there 4 times...... I wish you would get your staff together.......Train them before they work.

Good place where to have a dinner in the center of Amsterdam. Nice interior, In the Waag is a beautiful catering establishment in the old Waag. I went there twice, the best experience was when we sat inside and enjoyed a good wine and meat.

Been here for both work and for leisure over the years. Today, the food was amazing as usual. However, service was so so poor. Service was slow and it felt a hassle to be there. A bit let down.

Nice ambience but very loud in the main dining room. Service was very slow, it took 30 minutes to get the menu, 15 minutes before they came back to take the order and then another 30 minutes until the food arrived. In all fairness though, they had a full house including a large group that probably drained their resources a bit. Food was ok, we had the burgers that were a bit tasteless but well made.
