10/10Lovely local restaurant and great service from the welcoming staff. They were very accommodating of food allergies and were able talk to me about changes they could make to the menu. Overall a wonderful evening!

IF YOU DON’T PLAN TO SPEND A LOT, DON’T GO! Before my trip, I studied Italian culture and dining etiquette extensively, and I can confidently say I made no mistake or behaved disrespectfully in any way. At first, we were greeted with a smile, but soon bread and drinks were brought as if complimentary — only to be charged for them later. I repeatedly asked for the bill, yet we were ignored for about 30 minutes while the staff warmly chatted with other tables and avoided ours entirely. The dishes looked nothing like the photos and tasted strange. We ordered two main courses and two drinks, but it felt as if we were being looked down on for ordering “too little.” Many tourists leave good reviews because they spend a lot at tourist restaurants. But if you simply want a normal meal, I strongly advise against this place: their attitude changes depending on how much you spend, the quality of the food drops, and it can ruin your day.

10/10Excellent food, the seafood-pasta was delicious! Nice staff, our waitor Angelo was amazing and showed us and our children a amazing last night in Roma. If we return to Roma, we will 100% visit La lampada again.

During our visit to Rome, we dined at La Lampada on two consecutive nights. Night One: Angelo, our waiter, made the evening special despite the food not being the best and our portions appearing smaller than those served to others. His exceptional service made the experience enjoyable and memorable. Night Two: The food portions were more consistent with other patrons and tasted better than the first night. However, because we didn’t have Angelo, the service was lackluster, making us feel like just other tourists. To add to the disappointment, the manager was annoyed about our Fork discount and only applied 10% instead of the promised 20%. Summary: If you visit, ask for Angelo and confirm your discount upon arrival. Also, the house red wine is quite good.

The service was attentive, if not a bit pushy. The food was barely edible and we unfortunately had to leave it. The gnocchi was mushy, the sauce was bad and the meatballs were bland and tasted wrong. The artichoke tasted watery and lacked flavor And the seafood antipasto had tiny portions with NO flavor. We walked out as fast as we could.

The pasta was delicious and the location was perfect. The staff was personable and attentive, with the exception of the amount of time it took to receive our bill. Overall we had a great experience.
