The place is very well positioned next to trevi fountain. The food is ok. Not the best italian in town but it is reasonable price and the quality matches the price. Portions are not big, just fine for a lunch/dinner.

Considering that Al Picchio is located in such a tourist hot spot, the quality and value of the food came as a very welcome surprise. Service was friendly and helpful, portions were generous and in general the restaurant exceeded our expectations. The only downside was one very noisy table, a lack of good manners from those diners, and something outside the control of the restaurant. We arrived half an hour late (allow extra time for traffic jams) but Al Picchio generously gave us the Fork discount. Well recommended.

You simply MUST try the "quattro formaggi gnocchi"! My parents found this gem of a restaurant on their trip to Rome. When we visited with our children and friends a week later, we knew it would be a guaranteed delight. In fact, we loved it so much we returned the next day! The owners are brothers, Andrea and Maximilliano, who are delightful. Our server, Antonio, was exceptional... and did I mention the fabulous location? It's only a few yards from the Trevi fountain - Perfezione!
